Farmers' Market, Community Garden,
& Other Food-Fun Features!

Global Awareness Local Action believes that healthy, sustainable, and accessible food systems are critical to the wellbeing of all communities. We also recognize food as an ancient source of social gathering, ritual, and healing. Everyone eats, and as the saying goes, "you are what you eat." Our goal is to increase the amount of native, organic, and non-genetically modified food that is locally produced and consumed to the point we truly establish a sustainable food system.

Meeting our goals means supporting growers and eaters. It also means developing stronger relationships between the two. Currently, G.A.L.A. is a proud manager of the Wolfeboro Area Farmers' Market. We are also actively seeking volunteers to help us revitalize the Wolfeboro Community Garden. Other potential food-related projects include a "localvore" diet challenge, gleaning project, seed swaps, winter farmers' market, community canning kitchen and root-cellar, and a natural, alive, "farmacy."

Visit the Food Fun Forumto discuss G.A.L.A.'s food-related projects and issues with fellow community members.
