Wolfeboro Farmers's Market   Community Garden   Localvore Challenge   Market/Garden Forum
We realize these times are not ideal for everyone. We also know there are other details that could be improved to better suit the community's needs and desires. Like you, we want the Wolfeboro-Area-Farmers' Market to meet its fullest potential. Better yet, we want you to help define what that looks like. How would you like to see the market improve? What times are most convenient for you to attend the market? Do you find everything you are looking for at the market? Would you like to purchase a share of a CSA (community supported agriculture)? This year's market will be used as a platform for feedback and suggestions.
If you are unable to attend the market we still want to hear from you to find out how we can make the market suit your needs better. Community members willing to offer this feedback can do so through our "Food" forum or by email G.A.L.A. directly at
Below are several short bios of particpating vendors. We encourage you to build a relationship with these farmers and growers who make a healthy sustainable food system possible.

Cold Brook Gardens , Tamworth, NH
Cat Brennan & Katie Doyle Smith
Cat Brennan has been farming and gardening for the past ten years. In the summer of 2007 she developed Cold Brook Gardens in Tamworth where she grew a wide variety of vegetables, herbs and cut flowers using organic farming practices. Cat sells her produce through the Tamworth and Wolfeboro Farmers' Markets, Rivendell Natural Food Store, The Other Store and a small Community Supported Agriculture Program. Cat's passion for food, community and the environment inspires her to farm and informs all of her growing practices.
Katie Doyle Smith began farming eight years ago as a practical response to spending a year overseas studying the impacts of globalization on the environment and communities throughout the world. Katie has grown vegetables and herbs using organic and sustainable farming practices in New Hampshire as well as New Mexico where she began an urban farm that grew year-round produce to support a local CSA, farmers' markets and food pantries. Katie recently moved back to New Hampshire to live and farm and is delighted to grow alongside Cat, who over the years, has taught her so much about plants, cultivation, and farming in a sustainable way.
Cat and Katie will attend the Tamworth and Wolfeboro Farmer’s Markets throughout the 2008 growing season. They look forward to meeting you and bringing you the healthiest, freshest produce. They are honored and happy to be a part of local agriculture in New Hampshire.

Throughout this market season we will have a variety of organically grown herbs (potted, fresh cut, and dried), produce and berries. New this fall, we will have our own organic apples and seasonal goodies for the holidays."
Sunnyfield Brick Oven Bakery, Wonalancent, NH
Peg Loughran

All of our bread is vegan (no animal derived ingredients). All of our bread is organic. The bread is naturally leavened which means cultured with wild or native yeasts and "good" bacteria. Natural leavening helps breakdown the phytic acid naturally present in whole grains so that your body can digest and absorb more of the minerals and vitamins in the bread. We bake a regular rotation of naturally leavened bread, you order it directly from us for a scheduled day of the week, we drop it off at a bread site ( a member's porch, barn, garage etc...) and you pick it up and enjoy!

Via Lactea Farm, Brookfield, NH
Jennifer and Andy Tapper

Via Lactea Farm is a small, diversified farm located in Brookfield. In 1994 Andy and Jenny Tapper resurrected an abandoned 1798 homestead and pursued their dream of owning and operating a self-sufficient farm. They cleared land for gardens and pasture, renovated the house and built outbuildings and barns, and learned animal husbandry with a small menagerie of livestock and poultry.
As the farm grew their dream evolved and today the farm is home of Brookfield Dairy Goat Milk Products. With the milk from their herd of 30 dairy goats, Jenny produces a variety of goat milk cheeses, yogurt and raw milk in glass bottles in a licensed dairy plant. Brookfield dairy products are sold at the farm, farmers' markets and local grocers and restaurants. The farm produces poultry, pork, chevon, fresh eggs and maple syrup, which are sold from their farm storefront. Andy also manages the farm woodlot and processes firewood for sale locally.
Jenny advocates for small farms through her volunteer work with G.A.L.A., Farm Bureau, UNH Cooperative Extension and the Brookfield Agriculture Commission. Jenny is a founding member of the Wolfeboro Farmers' Market and after a short hiatus is pleased to participate as vendor and volunteer.
