Volunteer with G.A.L.A.

Like many nonprofits, G.A.L.A. depends largely on volunteer support from people like you. Creating a spirit of volunteerism is an integral part of G.A.L.A.'s mission in building sustainable community. G.A.L.A. is committed to making your volunteer experience fun, meaningful, and productive. Whether you are good with a hammer, enjoy event planning, like to write grants, can offer legal or financial advice, or willing to help with whatever comes up in the daily adventure of sustainable communtiy building, there is an opportunity for everyone to get involved! Program Manager


Volunteering as Program Manager is a large and rewarding commitment and a great way to be deeply involved in G.A.L.A.'s continued progress and mission achievement.

A G.A.L.A. Program Manager is responsible for:
• Assisting and managing the coordinators of their designated G.A.L.A. tier
• Building capacity within programs
• Providing logistical and supervisory support

Program Coordinator


Volunteering as Program Coordinator is an ongoing, rewarding commitment and a great way to participate in sustainable community building.

A G.A.L.A. Program Coordinator is responsible for:
• Managing coordination and implementation of their designated program
• Setting and meeting program goals within program budget
• Engaging in outreach and participant recruitment
• Additional volunteer “go-getter” coordination

G.A.L.A. Go-Getter


Volunteering as a G.A.L.A. Go-Getter is a fun and simple way to participate in building sustainable community. The success of every G.A.L.A. Program depends on volunteers to lend a hand “on the ground” with a program(s) that matches your interest. The opportunity can be ongoing or on call.

Committees:

Advisory Board G.A.L.A. is seeking individuals who are willing to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors. We are looking for people with experience, knowledge, and/or personal connections pertaining to environmental stewardship (watershed protection, habitat/land preservation, etc) , economic development (preferably in regards to NH artisans and local cottage industries), nonprofit financial management, marketing and brand development, legal services, and philanthropy. If you have another special skills or interest not listed here, but that you feel could benefit a nonprofit involved with sustainable community building such as ours, chances are you are right! Your inquiries are very appreciated.

Program Managers

G.A.L.A. is seeking individuals who are willing to work with our Executive Director to help manage ongoing programs including the Localvore Initiative, Sustain-A-Raisers, Homesteading & Cottage Industry Connection, GALAvanting, and Study Circles/Film Screenings. Tasks may include making phone calls with local artisans/homesteaders to establish a schedule of hands-on workshops, organizing and promoting "GALAvanting" trips to regional sustainability learning opportunities, or helping to facilitate a Sustain-A-Raisers service project like building a garden bed or installing a rain barrel for interested area home owner. These positions are very hand-on and exciting. Your inquiries are very appreciated.

Event Coordinators

G.A.L.A. hosts several annual events throughout the year such as our First-Night Chili & Chowda' Fundraiser, Earth Day Celebration, Farm-to-Table Feast, and more. We are looking for individuals to help with event planning and volunteer coordination. Your inquiries are very appreciated.
